It is not necessary to dress up for the hearing, clean, casual clothes are fine. In most hearings, both your attorney and the judge will ask questions. It is very important that you listen carefully to the question and answer it before adding additional information. There is nothing wrong with saying “I do not know” or “I cannot remember” if this is the truth. You are also allowed to stand up if you need to during the hearing in order to change position. If you can think of specific examples from your day to day life that illustrate how your disabling conditions impact you, this is often very powerful testimony.
